The challenge that we have is to move from isolation to engaging our community and culture where the command to make disciples becomes our priority. In everything we think, plan or do, to make disciples needs to be the underlying motive.
As a church, we aim to implement the three ‘C’s of our All Nations family. Grafton recently shared these keys for every family as well as our church family. The first ‘C’ is commitment. Nothing works without commitment and consistency. The second ‘C’ grows out of commitment, it is communication and that makes it possible to cover each other which is the third ‘C’. It is impossible to cover each other without communication.
We simply need to be committed to make disciples, that is, one disciple learning from another disciple as we follow Jesus together. The goal is to communicate and teach others to observe all the things Jesus has commanded for us to do.
As true disciples we should constantly think and pray for awareness of how we relate and communicate to the unbelieving world and to our church family.
We need to evaluate our relationships by asking ourselves some questions:
- How is your relationship with God, are you in maintenance mode or are you in mission mode?
- How are your relationships with the people you see every day, are you a follower of Jesus so that He can make you a fisher of men?
- How are your relationships in the body of Christ and in your local church? This means being part of corporate prayer, Life Groups. Do you serve in some other ministry in the body, like ministering to children, coffee duty, worship team?
The good news is that if these relationships are working properly in your life, it will not be difficult for you as a disciple from multiplying and your church from growing and you will be covered as you cover others.
Here are some reminders of what we are planning as a congregation. Be prepared to be part of what God wants to do in the next few months:
